Subject: What an amazing angle!

When I started out on medication, I was taking three things. This was during my eight-day stay in the hospital for psychiatric reasons. One of the meds was just for my bipolar symptoms, the second for depression, and the third was a sleep aid/antidepressant. I immediately asked to be taken off of the sleep aid they put me on because I felt like it would stick in my throat, and it made me freak out. I would be sitting there in the bed trying to reach down my throat to grab it, and people had to actively make sure I didn't try to do so. On top of making me panic, it didn't help me sleep. It made me artificially tired for about an hour, but still, I couldn't sleep. So, I asked not to have anything for sleep. Weirdly, when I get off a medication, I feel like I've achieved something, like it's a goal to be on as little as possible. Then, a couple months later, things were still not going great, and they took me off the antidepressant. My doctor thought it was stupid to even have me on the antidepressant because it was making me manic. So, he replaced it with a different medication that I am now off of. So, I'm down to one medication that I really like, and after seeing the effects of forgetting to take it, I think it's also 2/3 meds and 1/3 everything else.
