Fancy looking as good as our very own John Anthony? Well now you can. If you've got $1,200 lying spare, this could be you.

Taxi drivers and chief executives are among those who turn to fashion stylist Angela Stone for professional help to revamp their image.

The 43-year-old mother of five has worked in the fashion industry since she was 14 when she was first scouted as a model.

By 21 she was running her own modelling agency Portfolio Model Agency before selling that when she was 28 and starting her business, Angela Stone Consulting, which provides personal fashion advice.

"For the last 15 years I have literally been making men and women over," Stone said.

"I show them how to fly and feel really good about themselves."

Stone's service costs $275 per hour and includes body shape analysis, wardrobe planning sessions and personal shopping trips.

Stone said clients from all walks of life pay for her service despite the high cost. About 80 per cent of them were women.

"My clients are so varied they can be from taxi drivers to CEOs."

She said many clients came to her after going through a big life event such as dramatic weight loss, overcoming an illness or starting a new job.

Other customers were simply tired of seeing the same outfits in their wardrobe so they employed Stone as a fresh set of eyes.

"Quite often people don't revisit their wardrobe often enough.

"I can look into someone's wardrobe and tell them exactly what's missing."

Many people aged without updating their clothes or their image, resulting in a wardrobe full of ill-fitting or outdated outfits, she said.

"As we age weight can fluctuate and style can change.

"If you want to be successful then you need to look successful."

Stone said her services helped people save time and money because they were not making unnecessary purchases.

"It puts clarity around how to build a successful wardrobe and how to look good everyday without having to spend a fortune.

When Stone is not making over clients and their wardrobes, she is dividing her time between her various other business interests.

Fashion consulting takes up most of her time, but she also runs a fashion styling training school, provides business coaching, has her own clothing line and organises fashion events.

She even has her own range of Angela Stone Wine which included three varieties produced by Milcrest Estate at Hope, Nelson in 2014.

For the 2015 vintage she was working with a different winemaker on a range of five wine variants.

Her fashion styling training school teaches people how to get into the styling industry and operates in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.

Her clothing line is manufactured in Christchurch and Auckland using New Zealand made fabrics, with the garments sold online, at expos and at clothing parties.
